What is Mic Drop Music Camp?

Mic Drop Music Camp is a week-long program that introduces kids to music production.

Each day is packed with creative, collaborative, and fun experiences centered around music-making. Here's a look at how the week is structured and what your camper will experience:

🎛️ Beat Building

Each band breaks out into instrument-based groups and help build beats to work on. We'll develop: 

• Generating beats and expanding them

• Decision making in a no-right-answer environment

• Coaching on how to collaborate and perform parts

The goal is not just to play — but to understand how to build a song, own a part, and perform with confidence.

✍️ Songwriting

Songwriting is a great way for kids to stretch creatively. Each group will:

• Ideate song concepts and lyrics

• Choose band names and song titles

• Take a song idea from concept to completion

We focus on tools and tactics that help young songwriters break through creative blocks and bring their vision to life.  

🎹 Instrument Workshops

We keep theory practical and approachable. These sessions cover:

• Song structure

• Vocalizing scales

• Rhythm and counting

It’s all about giving kids the language and tools to better understand the music they’re playing and developing their ability to create on their own.

At Mic Drop Music Camp, the kids are in the drivers seat, which means grown-ups get to say "yes" a lot.  😎 🎶
